Take Warning!
We notice in our Iowa exchange, accounts of many robberies. In Iowa City, one night last week, the stable of Mr. Geo. Lienknecht was entered and two valuable horses were stolen. The robbers then proceeded to Vanfleet's livery stable and took the necessary amount of harness. They next appropriated a buggy belonging to Mr. Dye, Engineer of the Davenport Railroad, and finally armed themselves with two double barreled guns from the show of Mr. Henn. Officers have gone in pursuit of the scoundrels, with some hope of success, we understand.
Moral: Keep your doors and windows well fastened when this don't answer, keep firearms, bowie knives and bull dogs. -Dubuque Tribune

Married.
At Elkader, on the 19th inst. by V.R. Miller, J.P., Mr. George Bowhanan, of McGregor, and Miss Anna Garber, of Clayton county.

Poisoned! On the 11th inst. at Hardin, Allamakee county, Miss Achsa Jane, daughter of Jeremiah and Mary Prescott, formerly of Newport, Maine, was poisoned by eating wild parsnip in mistake for wild artichoke. She lived about an hour after eating the poison. Miss P. was 16 years of age.

[transcription note: Achsa Jane Prescott is listed in "Burial Grounds of Allamakee co." by D. Woodmansee; as being buried in Hardin cemetery. Woodmansee gives her birth date as June 11, 1835 but erroneously gives date of death as April 11, 1861. The error in the death date possibly being due to difficulty in reading the inscription on the stone.]
