Dean FULLER, the young man arrested for concealing money while clerking at the dry goods store of P. B. SPRAGUE, was released from custody on Tuesday, not being convicted.

Mr. R. C. BOYD was called to Camden, Illinois a few days since, by the death of his father, which occurred last Friday.

Mr. Newton (Vandyke) DUFF, of the firm of DUFF Bros., was married last Tuesday morning, February 6th , to Miss Della M. CARTER, at the bride's father's home, with Rev. J. H. POTTER, officiating.

S. H. BAKER, who was arraigned before the District Court, now in session in this city, for having a superfluity of wives, was found guilty, and His Honor, Judge LEONARD, sentenced him to 2 years in the penitentiary for this little escapade.

David GILSAN and Miss SHARP, the latter only 15 years of age, who resides on the county line near the south, ran away from home one night last week and wended their way to Missouri, where they were mad one, to all intents and purposes. The parents of the girl objected to the young man, hence the elopement. The young couple now live happily near Macksburg.

Last Tuesday, Mr. J. W. GRAHAM buried his 2 year old daughter, whose death was caused by the croup.

A marriage took place at the residence of Mr. M. BULLOCK, on February 4th, by Rev. M. NEWTON, Mr. Thaddeus WEEKS and Miss Lucy HARRIS, all of Monroe Township.

Mrs. Enos EDMUNDS of Jackson Township, died last Monday with consumption. Mrs. EDMUNDS had been sick for some time.

The Grand Jury last week found indictments against all of our druggists, and one HARTFORD, who keeps a saloon just out of the city limits. Also two drug stores in St. Charles, who plead guilty and were fined $150.00 each.

Benjamin CUNNINGHAM, of Scott Township, in this county, was killed last Friday near Indianapolis, Indiana, by falling between two cars. A telegram of the accident was sent to postmaster CASSIDY.

W. H. MILLER, of the firm of MILLER & MCMILLEN, was arraigned before Justice DAVIS last Friday for a preliminary trial, alleged as having appropriated and used notes, collateral's, etc., belonging to the firm. He was bound over to the next term of the District Court.

A little 8 year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James SEYMORE died in Indianola last Tuesday while on a visit. Diphtheria was the cause. The family will be joined by many friends in their sorrow, as this is the 2nd child they have lost within the past few months.

Mr. Joel MILLER, of this city has received a letter from one C. E. PARKER, of Ringgold County, who has ever reason to believe that the John PARKER, who met his death in the cave north of town, was his brother. He has, or had, a brother named John, whose whereabouts is not known and from the description, which answers exactly, he is confident it was his brother. We have heard of several letters of this kind, but this seems to be the most creditable.

Mrs. George BUCHANAN, daughter of William COMPTON, died last Monday.

Married in Winterset, on the 12th day of February, by George Koon, J.P., were Mr. Alvie OLSON and Miss Joanna LONGINAKER, all of this county.

Died of membranous croup on February 5th, Helen GRAHAM, daughter of J. W. & M. A. GRAHAM.
