Mr. John MCLEOD, while on his recent eastern trip, made a tour of the celebrated East River Bridge. He came very close to being in a crash like the one which proved fatal to so many.

A daughter of William HARTSOOK, of Lincoln Township, died last Monday evening. (Elida E. HARTSOOK, buried at the Hamblin Cemetery.)

Rev. H. H. O'NEAL, Pastor of the Winterset M. E. Church a few years ago and at present Presiding Elder of the Corning District, was in town las Saturday on his way to Hebron to attend the quarterly conference.
