Amanda Huffman was born in Springfield, Illinois, on December 24, 1832 and departed
this life on June 24, 1907, aged 74 years and 6 months. She was married to John B.
Huffman on January 1, 1850 and they moved to Pottawattamie County, Iowa, the same
year. In 1854, they removed to Madison County, where she resided until the time of
her death. To this union were born 12 children, 9 of whom survive her, 3 having died
in infancy and the father and husband preceeding her to the better world on June
1, 1891. The funeral services were held at the home in the southeast part of Winterset
and interment in the Wight Cemetery at Webster Township.

Elizabeth (Fry) Ford was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on April 2, 1827 and
departed this life on June 24, 1907, aged 80 years, 2 months and 22 days. She was
married at Greensburg, Indiana, to Ivan S. Ford on June 22, 1848. In 1853, Mr. &
Mrs. Ford emigrated to Davis County, Iowa. Ten years later, they moved to Douglas
Township, this county, which continued to be their home until 1891, when the moved
to Winterset. Nine children were born to them, 6 of whom are still living. They are
W. M., Richard and Mrs. Will J. Smith, of this county. Mrs. Cool, Mrs. Harl Eyerly
and Jared P. Ford who all live in Nebraska. She is also survived by two brothers
and 2 sisters. The brothers and 1 sister, Mrs. Mary McDoughal, residing at the old
homestead at Indianapolis, Indiana and 1 sister, Mrs. Margaret Beggs, of Moulton,
Iowa. Her husband preceded her to the better world on April 28, 1902. She was laid
to rest at the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset.
