John Fuller Potter
John Fuller Potter, eldest son of Warren and Lucy Potter, was born in Floyd township, Onida [sic--Oneida] county, N. Y., May 21, 1877 [error--1847] and died in Sheldon on March 25, 1918 at the age of nearly
seventy-one years. With his parents he moved to Berlin, Wis., in 1856, where he resided for eighteen years. In 1870 he moved to O'Brien county, Iowa, and took up the first homestead in Floyd township. Floyd township took it's name from the township in which Mr. Potter was born. He is survived by three brothers, Lynn and Eugene of Sheldon, and William of Earlham, and one sister, Miss Erma Potter of Sheldon.
Funeral services will be held from the M. E. church at 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Dr. J. J. Bushnell. Burial will be made in East Lawn cemetery.
