FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
FRIDAY FOR PETER CASPER

Following is the obituary of Peter Casper Sr., who passed away on Tuesday of
last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Muecke:

Mr. Peter Casper was the son of Peter Casper and his wife Catherine nee
Messerschmiet, and was born on March 26, 1859, in Drekeysville, Grant
county, Wis. It was there he spent the first 23 years of his life, and in
1882, together with his parents came to Plymouth county. Here he resided
practically the rest of his life. In the year 1885 Mr. Casper was united in
Holy marriage to Miss Eva Lebben, of Hazelgreen, Wis. God blessed this
union with nine children, namely George, Edward, Annie, Mayme, Lawrence,
Frank, John, Anton, and Harry. The last four mentioned preceded both parents
in death, and Lawrence was called by the angel of death in 1918. The
greatest sorrow came to the deceased when in 1916 his faithful and Christian
spouse was called to her eternal home. Since that time Mr. Casper spent
most of his time with his children and also some time in California and with
friends at home.

About six weeks ago, Mr. Casper was taken to a Sioux City hospital to
undergo treatment and also an operation for cancer. He found some relief
but hopes for recovery soon had to be abandoned. Repeatedly was he
therefore urged to set his house in order, trust his Savior Jesus Christ for
complete deliverance and trustingly awaited the Master's call.

Two weeks ago he was removed to the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Muecke, and there he was lovingly attended until God said, on
Tuesday evening, "It Is Enough." He departed this life at the age of 75
years, eight months, and one day.

He leaves to mourn his departure his 4 children, George and Edward, Mrs.
Fred Blankenburg, and Mrs. Carl Muecke, all of Hinton, two sons-in-law, two
daughter-in-laws, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, three
brothers, A. J. Casper, of Hinton, Fred Casper of Tyler, Minn., John Casper
of Leeds, many other relatives and a large number of friends.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon,
the Rev. R. J. Torgler officiating and interment took place at the Lutheran
cemetery. A large number attended the services.

Pallbearers: Gus Schultz, Henry Heimgartner, Gus Lang, August Beck, Henry
Ideker, Chas. Schoenrock.

Moneys for the Lord's kingdom were stipulated as a memorial wreath in memory
of Mr. Casper by Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Casper, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muecke, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Heimgartner, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Muecker, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Greenwaldt, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Krueger, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lebben,
Mr. and Mrs. George Withrow, Mr. and Mrs. James Egan, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey
Dieter, Mr. and Mrs. Willard McClain.

Those attending the funeral from distant places were Mr. and Mrs. Willard
McClain, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Withrow, all of Cuba City, Wis., Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Johnson and Pete and Fred Casper, of Tyler, Minn.
