Mrs. Parvin, wife of John Parvin, late of
, died at
on the night of the 14th inst. Mrs. P. had removed to
with her husband to take charge of the Orphan’s Home. The loss will be
severely felt by a large circle in which her worth was well known and
appreciated. Her age was forty-six years.
Three roughs are under arrest at
charged with robbing a Mr. Hull, from
, by decoying him out of the city a short distance and garroting him. The
Hawkeye says the amount of booty was small.
